Shaid is the Advisor Vector Head of CASS and Finance Operations at ABRDN for the past 7 years holding the role of CF10a and most recently the Certified CASS Oversight officer. With 25 years in the investment industry, Shaid has worked with Tier 1 financial institutions in both wholesale and retail sectors. His career spans across a range of organisations such as Morgan Stanley, Scottish Widows Investment Partnership Ltd, SSE and Barclays Wealth & Investment Management. He is an experienced investment operations professional with a strong background in financial markets and investment management. For the past 10 years he has focussed on client asset protection and CASS regulations helping organisations understand their CASS obligations and improve their compliance with the CASS rules. Shaid has worked on several high profile CASS projects ensuring that firms develop appropriate arrangements for the governance and oversight of their CASS exposures. He has held leading roles in CASS change and assurance oversight, performing audits across international jurisdictions and helping CASS large firms raise the stand of CASS compliance. With lots of changes in the CASS rules over the past few years, Shaid has played a key role in guiding organisations through the interpretations and rule changes while embedding the new standards required to meet the constantly evolving expectations of the regulators and auditors. Shaid also plays an active role in industry forums across the UK in the CASS space and is a leading member of the Scottish CASS Forum and well as the TISA CASS Technical Committee and also sits on the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments Scottish Committee.
