Bessem Soua, a Tunisian National, has over 22 years of progressive experience holding various senior positions at the Central Bank of Tunisia and the Islamic Development Bank Group (the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit "ICIEC"). He is currently the regional Head for Sub-Saharan Africa & Europe at ICIEC where he overseas operations in more than 30 countries.
He is actively involved in structuring innovative risk mitigation solutions in coordination with DFIs, multilateral institutions and the private market to de-risk investment and trade in ICIEC member countries. For the last couple of years, he has played a leading role in assignments related to the preparation and review of the corporate strategy.
He holds an MBA from IE Business School, Spain and attended various specialized executive education programs at Harvard Kennedy School and Berkeley Business School with focus on innovation and entrepreneurship.
ICIEC is a multilateral credit and political risk insurer, member of the Islamic Development Bank Group and owned by 49 member countries. It is rated Aa3 by Moody’s.
