Hackathon 1: Financial Product Innovation
Create a mortgage that meets 21st Century customer needs
The mortgage as a product hasn’t changed in 70 years. Wiping the slate clean, teams will reinvent and redesign a modern mortgage product that’s fit for purpose. How can we take advantage of today’s technology to make for a seamless, digitised experience? What would the ideal mortgage look like? How can we use data and behaviours to identify customers who may be looking to buy, and support them through their journey?
It’s a mortgage… but not as you know it.
Hackathon 2: Digital products to attract the older generations
With the push for payments to go cashless or totally digital, how will this impact those who aren’t as digitally savvy? This hackathon will focus on ways to engage, educate, and walk those customers through who are unable or unwilling to make the leap to digital. How do we balance innovation with making sure we don’t leave people behind, and how do we ensure they are reassured and protected?
If it’s not viable to have a single model of regulation and for a solution to cover every model, how can this be addressed in an efficient, sustainable way?
Is the key to be closer to the regulator and, if so, what are the best ways to navigate that relationship?
The role that open APIs may play in improving the system.
With the move to payments becoming diversified and split into different components, which areas will we be active in?
What choices and decisions need to be made, and what impact will this have on you and your customers?
