Alex Muller is SVP, Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) & Investment Committee Member at Synchrony Financial. He currently leads innovation and product development in several domains including mobile and artificial intelligence.
A leader in innovative technology for over 20 years, Alex has deep experience leading teams of engineers and innovators to develop mobile solutions that help enterprise retailers and brands create seamless shopping experiences for their customers. Alex founded GPShopper in 2007 with the intention of improving the relationship between retailers and their customers through the use of technology. He spearheaded the company’s growth from a group of mobile app developers into an enterprise-class platform that supports extensive integrations with retailers’ e-commerce platforms and loyalty systems, handling hundreds of millions in commerce every year. GPShopper enabled native apps are used by over 40 million consumers each year. In 2017, he led the successful acquisition of GPShopper by Synchrony Financial.

Inc. named Alex a person “at the top of his game” and a leader in his industry, and CIO Magazine cited him as a go-to expert in the retail and ecommerce space. Alex has served as an Adjunct Professor at NYU, lecturing on Mobile Application Strategy and Execution. Alex graduated from Tufts University with a BS in Engineering before earning his MS Engineering and his MBA (Tepper School), from Carnegie Mellon University.
