Sean began his career at the Boston Consulting Group where he was a member of the Financial Services practice and focused on P&C Insurance, Payments and Lending from 2003-2005 and 2006-2010, and took a break from 2005-2006 when he worked for Longworth Venture Partners, a Boston-based venture capital firm.
In 2005 Sean co-founded an e-commerce company named TSS-Radio, which he bootstrapped to #94 on the Inc. 500. In 2010 Sean founded a payment processing technology company called FeeFighters which was known for its developer friendly APIs and automated underwriting. FeeFighters raised $1.5M of venture capital and sold to Groupon in 2012.
Between leaving Groupon and founding Kin in 2016, Sean held interim executive roles at another financial services technology company called 2Checkout and Livewatch Home Security (now Brinks Home Security), a provider of home security monitoring services.
Sean earned an AB and MBA from the University of Chicago and serves on the board of Accion USA an alternative lending nonprofit bringing affordable credit options and business consulting to small businesses in underserved neighborhoods around the country, where he is a member of the Technology Committee.
