FDM Everywoman in Technology Awards’ annually showcases the most dynamic and active women working in Stem, demonstrating the vast range of career opportunities that the sector offers women.
This year, the competition was entitled ‘Inspiring the world of tomorrow’ and focused on role models for young women, concentrating on the importance of cultivating an interest in STEM professions (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) from an early age. Recent studies have revealed that there is a great shortage of female students choosing to study these subjects including computer science (17.2% of women) and engineering and technology (17% of women). Consequently, for the last eight years, the organisation has presented successful women role models working in the sector of technology who can inspire new generations to follow in their footsteps.
