Carlissia Graham is an investor, startup mentor, and serial entrepreneur working at the intersections of technology, culture, and politics. She is president of New Media Ventures, a leading venture philanthropy fund that has mobilized $60M toward early-stage media, civic tech and organizing projects.

Carlissia draws from 15 years of experience in politics and social advocacy as well as her firsthand experience as a serial entrepreneur. She has spent her career shaping the policies and governance of American institutions that are shifting society at scale - from the Obama White House to the U.S. Senate to Planned Parenthood Federation of America and even the U.S. Departments of Agriculture and Energy, where she launched DOE’s inaugural Technology Commercialization Fund. Within the investment space, her work centers on getting capital to people who are reimagining and building a greater future as evidenced by a thriving democracy, responsible tech ecosystem, and equal capital opportunities for underinvested communities.

Carlissia is an active startup mentor and sits on the investment committee of High Street Equity Partners.
