Rebecca SampinsDeputy Head, Sanctions Policy & Counter-Terrorism at HM Treasury
Rebecca is the Deputy Head of the Sanctions Policy and Counter-Terrorism Financing branch in the Treasury. She leads EU Withdrawal sanctions issues for the Treasury, as well as managing HMT’s work on policy development for new and existing financial sanctions regimes and current issues such as Iran (the US’ withdrawal from the JCPOA) and Russia. She also leads on the FATF Asia Pacific Joint Groups, with a particular focus on Pakistan following its FATF grey-listing.
Rebecca has been at the Treasury for three years, previously working in OFSI on DPRK and Iran sanctions implementation. Before joining the Treasury, Rebecca worked on Enforcement and Competition Policy at the Office of Gas and Electricity Markets. She has a degree in economics.
