Paul Jones is founder, Co-Chairman, Chief Investment Officer and the controlling principal of Tudor Investment Corporation (“Tudor”), a leading alternative investment firm founded in 1980 with principal operations today in Connecticut, New York and London. Tudor is part of the Tudor Group, a group of affiliated companies engaged in trading in the fixed income, equity, currency and commodity markets. He is a portfolio manager focusing on discretionary macro trading and is a principal risk taker for Tudor’s flagship macro strategy.
Mr. Jones is a member of the Commodity Exchange, Inc., the ICE Futures U.S. (formerly the New York Board of Trade) and the New York Fed Investor Advisory Committee on Financial Markets. Mr. Jones served as a member of the Treasury Borrowing Advisory Committee of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association from May 2010 through December 2011, served as Chairman of the then New York Cotton Exchange from August 1992 through June 1995 and was instrumental in the creation of its Financial Instrument Exchange (FINEX).
In addition to his current role as Co-Founder and Chairman of JUST Capital, Paul’s philanthropic service includes, among other roles, founding and serving as former chairman and current board member of the Robin Hood Foundation, and founding and serving as former board member of the Excellence Charter School. He is Director of the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, former Chairman and current board member of The Everglades Foundation Inc., Chairman of Pure Edge, Inc. Foundation, Trustee of NYU Langone Medical Center and serves on the Board of the Apollo Theater Foundation. Paul was awarded an honorary doctorate for his achievements in business and philanthropy from the University of Glasgow in November 2014. Paul holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Virginia (1976).
