Quincy Jones

Founding Index Ambassador at ICONICBETA

An impresario in the broadest sense of the word, Quincy Jones’ creative magic spans seven decades. He has traversed virtually every medium, as a composer, artist, arranger, conductor, instrumentalist, record company executive, magazine founder, multimedia entrepreneur, investor, and record, film and TV producer. Jones was named by Time Magazine as one of the most influential jazz musicians of the 20th century, including having arranged and recorded for such greats as Ray Charles, Count Basie and Duke Ellington. His broad-ranging awards are numerous, including being one of only 17 people who have achieved an “EGOT,” garnering at least one Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award. One of the most successful and admired creative artists/executives in the history of the entertainment world, Jones also has a long history of humanitarian work, including civil rights and famine relief. Additionally, The Quincy Jones Foundation raises awareness and financial resources for initiatives to eradicate global children’s issues in areas of conflict, malaria, and clean water shortages. His contributions are far-reaching and have touched nearly every sector of the entertainment industry. At 84 years old, Jones remains as involved as he was in his 30’s, and continues to positively influence the world.
