Phil is PricewaterhouseCoopers’ (PwC) Senior Trade Advisor. He is currently advising PwC clients on Brexit and international trade, specialising in Brexit risk and assurance assessments; trade negotiations and policy; and, government export strategies and international trade analysis. He is also advising the UK Space Agency (UKSA) on Brexit, international trade negotiations and exports. Between 2010-2012, Phil was Head of the UK’s Multilateral and Regional Trade Negotiations Team, leading the UK’s trade policy, international influencing, and business engagement on World Trade Organisation (WTO) and EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations. He then became DFID’s Senior Trade and Regional Integration Adviser for Southern Africa, responsible for the UK’s trade programmes in the region, covering trade facilitation, SPS and TBT standards, infrastructure project preparation and trade negotiations. Before leaving government, Phil was a Deputy Director in the UK’s trade and investment promotion agency (UKTI), leading a department of 15 public and private sector specialists to increase inward investment and exports in UK innovation, venture capital and disruptive technologies - including space and satellites, robotics and autonomous systems, and advanced materials.
