Miguel Picache is Managing Director and Global Head of Private Credit Markets at Citigroup Global Markets Inc. He manages a team responsible for the origination, structuring and execution of traditional 4(a)2 private debt placements for corporate and institutional issuers, including sponsors, distributing the bespoke securities to accredited institutional investors primarily in North America, the UK/Europe and Australia/Asia. In addition, Miguel is responsible for the distribution of structured debt, infrastructure and project finance debt executed in 4(a)2 or loan format.

Within his Private Credit Markets platform, Miguel is responsible for investment grade private debt (Private Placements) distributed to primarily insurance company investors and sub-investment grade /mezzanine debt (Private Credit) distributed mainly to direct lenders, credit funds and special situation funds.

In 2001, Miguel joined the Structured Debt group of Salomon Smith Barney to help grow the Private Placement business and he was appointed head of the Private Placement group in 2004. His experience in the private placement practice encompasses successfully completed investment grade, non-investment grade and mezzanine debt financings across a broad group of industries. Prior to his involvement in Private Placements, Miguel’s investment banking experience included prior positions in corporate finance, leveraged finance and debt capital markets.

Miguel holds a Master of Management degree from Northwestern University’s J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Engineering.
