Group Chief Risk Officer at Maybank Group
Dr. John Lee is the Group Chief Risk Officer (GCRO) of Maybank Group, one of the largest banking group in ASEAN. As GCRO, he oversees the Group Risk function of the Group, where he has oversights on matters relating to credits, compliance, assets and liabilities management, liquidity management, credit risk management, market risk management, operational risk management and business continuity. As the GCRO, he sits on the Executive Committee of the Group and various other management committees in the Group. Prior to Maybank, Dr. Lee was a Partner in KPMG, where he completed numerous projects around the Asia Pacific region. He has a Ph.D. in financial economics from Monash University. He is also a FCPA of CPA Australia, and a Chartered Banker of the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers. He was awarded the Bank Risk Manager for Year 2013 by Asia Risk and the Risk Manager for Year 2014 by Asian Banker for his contributions to the Group and the industry.
