Debbie Toennies is a ManagingDirector in JPMorgan Chase’s Office of Regulatory Affairs where she isHead of RegulatoryAffairsfor JP Morgan’s Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB). She hasresponsibilityfor assessingregulatory issues impacting the CIB and settingthe strategy and directing the Firm’sadvocacy effortsfor regulatory issues which impact the CIB and securitization businessesbroadly. Debbiehas been actively involved in the industry’s advocacy work on a wide variety of regulatory issues and now servesas co-chair of the International Securities Dealers Association (ISDA) FRTBSteering Committee. Shealsoserves as advisor for clients on the changing regulatory landscape relating toregulatory issues.
Prior tothisrole,Debbie wasresponsible for theanalysis, coordination and advocacy of capital, liquidity and securitization regulatoryissues within the Office of RegulatoryAffairs. In addition, Debbie was JPMorgan Chase’s liaison for all regulatorymatters affecting JPMorgan Chase Commercial Bank.
Prior to joining the Office of Regulatory Affairs, Debbie servedasHead of Conduit Management and Business Development within J.P. Morgan’sSecuritized Products Group where she was an industry leader in advocacyinitiatives with global regulators regarding securitization related issues inparticular with regard to the impact of various rulemakings related toDodd-Frank, Basel II and Basel III. In addition, Debbie was responsible forinvestor marketing, structuring J.P. Morgan’s conduits and ongoing relationshipmanagement for investors and rating agencies.
Debbie also spent many yearsoriginating, structuring and marketing a variety of asset backed and structuredcredit producttransactions.Previously, Debbie worked in corporate tax planning for First Chicago Bank andas an auditor at Arthur Andersen & Company prior to joining the Firm in1990.
Debbie hasa B.S. in Accounting from Miami University and an M.B.A. in Finance andStrategy from The University of Chicago.
