The Swedish Private Equity and Venture Capital Association is the industry body and public policy advocate for the private equity and venture capital industry in Sweden.

Today the Swedish private equity industry is one of the largest in Europe in relation to GDP. Private equity sponsored companies have close to 200,000 employees and their revenues are over 300 billion SEK, comparable to 8.4 % of Swedish GDP.

The first Swedish private equity firm Företagskapital was founded in 1973 and the Swedish Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (SVCA) was founded 12 years later in 1985.

SVCA provides meeting platforms for the industry players spanning from conferences to informal networking events.

Our membership comprises more than 160 firms, including private equity and venture capital houses, institutional investors (limited partners), professional advisers, service providers and business angels.

SVCA is the voice of the private equity industry. SVCA’s mission is to improve market conditions for the private equity industry in Sweden:

  • Provide facts and data about the private equity industry
  • Monitor regulatory framework
  • Promote the national code of conduct – link to the Supervisory board and code of conduct here
  • Networking and meeting places for the industry
