Funsho Allu runs the Nairobi office of TIA Capital, launched in 2009, which is an investment firm focused on African credit. His focus is on hard and soft currency corporate and sovereign credit across Central, Eastern and Southern Africa. The firm exclusively acts for a USD 24b global multi-asset manager.
Funsho was also a founding partner of 46 Parallels 1 LLP a joint venture between TIA Capital and the JMH Group. Over a three-year period Funsho along with his fellow TIA Capital partners built 46 Parallels, a fund focused in Private Debt in SSA-ex SA.
Before launching TIA Capital, Funsho headed the EMEA HF business for AIG and PineBridge’s MultiStrategy HF allocation businesses in London. Peak AUM $10b. There he held the position of Vice President and was a member of the General Partner for PB’s $450m Early-Stage equity program for Alt. Inv. managers. He managed side-pocketed / illiquid assets from a variety of EMEA funds involving valuation, restructuring and workouts/runoffs. Member of Global Asset Allocation Committee, Senior Leadership Committee and Audit Committee.
Prior to his six years at PineBridge Investments, Funsho sat on the Investment Committee at Petercam Capital, a London-based boutique asset manager, which managed equity and alternatives investments on behalf of a Belgian investment bank.
He began his career at Goldman Sachs International in London, sales-trading European equities and derivatives for institutional UK, Middle Eastern and Singaporean clients.
