Ziad Sarkis is a Wharton MBA and a career finance professional experienced in leading M&A transactions and advising investors and funds on transacting deals, managing portfolio companies, and exiting investments, particularly in emerging markets. He is currently the Director of Research at the Wharton Alternative Investments Program, which is Wharton’s think tank and hub for research on alternative investments, including private equity and hedge funds. He represents Wharton at alternative investments conferences globally where he is a frequent speaker and panel
moderator on private capital and investment fund topics. Ziad teaches executive education classes on private equity and venture capital classes at Wharton attended by 50-70 C-level executives and investment professionals. He develops technical content for such investment classes and authors case studies on private equity. He also sits on advisory boards and provides consulting
services around investment topics to funds and governments.
Prior to his current role, Ziad worked for Zouk Capital, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Deloitte in the U.S. and EMEA regions, where he advised private equity funds, family offices, and corporate groups on mergers, acquisitions, and capital market transactions. His experience includes over 50 deals of various sizes in the EMEA region, across different industries where he directed M&A engagements (Buy-side and sell-side), transaction services (Due diligence, valuation, financial modeling, SPA/term sheet negotiation, and IPO readiness assessment), strategic consulting projects (Carve-out, business plan drafting, and market analysis), and fund services (LP due diligence of GPs and fund strategy development).
