Karl SmithManaging Director (MIRA) at Green Investment Bank
Karl is a member of the renewable energy team, with a specialisation in offshore wind. He is the Managing Director and member of the Offshore Wind Fund Investment Committee, a dedicated offshore wind fund established by the UK Green Investment Bank.
Karl joined the Green Investment Group (GIG) in 2012, having previously spent three years advising on and developing energy and infrastructure transactions with Hideal Partners. Prior to this role, Karl spent four years with Babcock and Brown in principal equity investment, and also held similar positions with ABN Amro, Macquarie Group and KPMG.
Karl has extensive experience in principal equity investment, debt investments and financial advisory across the energy and infrastructure sector. In particular, he was the lead principal for GIG's investments in Rhyl Flats and Gwynt y Mor.
Karl has a Bachelor of Finance (honours) from the University of Melbourne, Australia.
