Osman QureshiManaging Partner, Co-Founder at First Alpha Energy Capital
Osman has spent nearly his whole 25-year career as an infrastructure and industrials investor and financial adviser. Prior to co-founding First Alpha Energy, an energy-focused private equity firm, Osman worked at Mubadala Infrastructure Partners Limited (MIP), an infrastructure-focused private equity firm jointly owned by Mubadala, GE, and Credit Suisse. Over his nine years there as a founding member, senior investment professional, and number-two, he sourced investments, led the execution of the majority of MIP’s deals, and served on the boards of MIP’s portfolio companies with post-investment responsibility. He is now an adviser to Mubadala Infrastructure Partners and member of its Operating Board. Before MIP, Osman was the Head of the Industrials Vertical at Istithmar, Dubai Government’s investment company, where he led landmark investments such as the taking-private of P&O Ports and other leveraged buyouts and structured equity investments across Asia and Europe. Osman’s private equity career started at Emerging Markets Partnership where he was responsible for IDB Infrastructure Fund’s power investments spanning Asia and the Middle East. Preceding his 15 years in private equity, Osman worked for 10 years as an investment banker, mostly at Lehman Brothers and Deutsche Bank, where he specialized in U.S. power and utilities M&A, and corporate and project finance. Osman received his M.A. from Columbia University and B.A. from Lafayette College.
