Amer Fatayer is a Managing Director of the newly established Dubai Future District Fund, an evergreen venture fund of funds and direct investment vehicle of the emirate of Dubai. The fund is anchored by Dubai Future Foundation and the Dubai International Financial Centre to invest in the Future of Finance and Future Economies with the aim of bolstering economic development in Dubai, the UAE and the broader region.

Amer ’s first exposure to early-stage tech start-ups came in 2016 when he joined Majid Al Futtaim to lead their corporate venture capital activities. In 2019, Amer joined Rocket Internet M.E and in early 2020, Amer set up Spartech Ventures with his partners and invested in 10 additional start-ups across EMEA.

Prior to venturing into the tech ecosystem, Amer spent over 5 years at Deloitte Advisory (London and Dubai) where he:

● Executed six major turnarounds/ strategic growth plans (one restructuring, two

'five-year strategic plan' pre IPO, two value creation programmes and one private equity exit)

● Led merger & acquisition due diligence (operational and commercial) on fifteen targets, highlighting risks and over $100 mm in value creation upsides

● Led synergy identification assessment of ten large scale mergers; achieved an average of 7% in cost base savings including 4 late-stage tech investments

Other past companies include Charles River Associates (London), and GlaxoSmithKline (London). Amer earned his Master of Business Administration from the London Business School, his Master of Science in Organizational Behaviour from the London School of Economics, and his Bachelor of Engineering in Control and Systems Engineering from the University of Sheffield, UK.
