Mert is the Co-Founder and a Managing Partner at Credia Partners.

Mert has 27 years of investment banking experience with strong M&A, structured debt, project finance, DCM and ECM credentials through landmark transactions in Turkey advising corporates, banks, financial sponsors and multinationals. He is the founding partner of Credia Partners since May 2015.

Credia Partners is an independent advisory firm with offices in London and Istanbul. The firm specializes in advising clients on M&A and credit in Turkey, Europe, and the UK. Additionally, Credia Partners originates and structures private credit and private equity transactions in Turkey to co-invest alongside funds, providing our partners with local expertise and diligent monitoring throughout the investment’s life.

Before founding Credia Partners, Mert was the Managing Director and Head of Turkey Investment Banking at UniCredit between 2010-2015. Prior to that, he worked as the Chief Corporate Finance Officer at regional energy company Unit Group for three years. Between 2003-2007 Mert established and led Standard Bank’s Turkey Corporate and Investment Banking. Between 1999-2003, he was a senior member of JPMorgan Turkey Investment Banking where he was also the Head of Central Asia. He started his career in 1996 at Citibank’s M&A and Venture Capital Group where he worked until 1999.

Mert has BA in Economics from Bosphorous University and MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.
