René J. Canezin is a Managing Partner and Founding Partner of the Firm.

He has over 30 years of experience in building and managing investment businesses in multiple global locations across all asset classes and derivatives.

René joined Harvard Management Company in 2011, where he was responsible for building and managing the absolute return credit portfolio. During his tenure, he took additional leadership roles in overseeing Fixed Income, Commodities, and International Equities portfolios with total risk capital exceeding $3 billion.

Prior to joining HMC, René spent 21 years at Lehman Brothers and Barclays Bank. At Barclays Bank, he held the position of Head of Global High Yield Trading and the Credit Opportunities Group (COG). René formed the COG group at Barclays in October 2008 which focused on credit opportunities across high yield, credit derivatives, CLO structured products, and CMBS. COG invested over $2 billion during the subsequent 2.5 years until he left for HMC where he launched a similar strategy.

René graduated magna cum laude from Boston College with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.
