Michael has served as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Charlesbank Capital Partners since July 2017. Michael has over 25 years of private equity experience, having joined Harvard Private Capital Group, the predecessor to Charlesbank, in 1997. Prior to that he was a business analyst at McKinsey & Company, where he focused on corporate strategy work.

At Charlesbank, Michael was instrumental in adding Credit and Technology strategies to complement the firm’s flagship private equity platform. In addition, he helps lead the firm's business services and technology teams, including sourcing and investment efforts.

Michael serves on the boards of portfolio companies Lido Advisors, Park Place, Six Degrees, Sound United and World Insurance Associates. He also serves on the Board of Governors of Partners in Health, the Board of Trustees of Nativity Preparatory School of Boston and the Board of Directors of Wayfair. He lived in Seoul, Korea, before moving to Boston for college, graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University. Today he lives with his wife and two children in Boston. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, hiking and other outdoor activities with his family.
