Managing Director, Portfolio Manager - Special Situations & Opportunistic Credit at Monroe Capital
Cesar Gueikian, Managing Director. Mr. Gueikian is a Managing Director and Co-Portfolio Manager of Monroe Capital Special Situations Credit investment vehicles. He has over 18 years of experience in credit and structured finance. Prior to Monroe, Mr. Gueikian was a Founder of Melody Capital Partners, a $1.5 billion alternative asset manager focused on private debt and secondary investing.
Prior to Melody, Mr. Gueikian was at UBS from 2009 until 2012 as the Global Head of the Special Situations Group (“SSG”). His responsibilities comprised of all structured and private lending. He was also Head of UBS Leveraged Finance Capital Markets (“LCM”) for EMEA starting in 2010.
His responsibilities included Leveraged Loans and High Yield Bonds, across a variety of transaction structures including acquisition and bridge financings, refinancings and recapitalizations, working primarily with private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies. While at UBS, Mr. Gueikian co-chaired the Global Investment Committee, was a member of the European Management Committee and Significant Influence Function (SIF) delegate on behalf of UBS with the Financial Services Authority in London.
Prior to UBS, he headed Illiquid Credit Trading for North America at Merrill Lynch. He began his career at Deutsche Bank, where he focused on credit analysis, corporate valuation, capital structure, waterfall and fundamental analysis.
