As Managing Director of Communications for the Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA), Emily Mendell is responsible for association-wide strategic communications, including content, branding, messaging, media relations, social media and marketing. In her leadership role, she supports the key pillars of activity for ILPA comprising, education, advocacy, research and community.
Prior to joining ILPA, Ms. Mendell served as Vice President of Communications for Polaris Partners, a Boston-based venture capital firm where she led the marketing and communications strategy for the partnership and supported the efforts of 100+ technology and healthcare portfolio companies. Previously, she was responsible for leading the strategic communications, brand management, and public relations at the National Venture Capital Association, a national, member-based organization comprised of more than 400 venture capital firms across the United States. She also serves as the Communications counsel to the Global Venture Capital Congress, an organization representing the venture capital and private equity associations around the world.
Emily holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
