John DuncanPrincipal at Meridian Research Group
John is a principal and founder of Meridian Research Group, a provider of public policy research and analysis for leading asset management firms. Over the last decade, John has been a trusted advisor to clients on financial services/mortgages, energy, health care, tech/telecom, trade/sanctions, and fiscal policy, as well as in other areas.
John brings a unique set of skills to this position through his experience in various senior government and corporate roles. He has served as Director of Policy for the U.S. Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez and as Deputy Chief of Staff/Acting Chief of Staff to the U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao. He also served as a senior advisor and campaign manager to the former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Newt Gingrich. Throughout his time in Washington, John has worked with the White House, Congress, and federal agencies to shape economic policy across a broad variety of sectors.
John also brings a rigorous analytical perspective to his role in developing and advising on public policy. He has led corporate strategy, industry analysis and new technology initiatives at Microsoft Corp. and SEVEN Networks. In addition, he has worked in the venture capital community at Ignition Partners, a leading Seattlebased firm.
John has a MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BA from Georgetown University.
