Prof Dr Daniel N Erasmus has practised tax law for over for over 28 years, and is an international tax trial attorney and Counsel of the High Court of South Africa, the Supreme Court of Appeal and the Constitutional Court, where he has also acted as Counsel in the South African Tax Court. He has also acted as Counsel in TP mediation processes in the High Court of Uganda, before the Special Court for hearing Income Tax Appeals in Zimbabwe, and will do so again before the tax tribunal in Tanzania and other African countries based on current mandates from multi-nationals.

He is currently litigating over US$400m in TP disputes for various multi-nationals in Africa. He has successfully litigated/resolved in excess of US$3.5bn in Revenue Authority claims for multi-nationals over the past decade, where on average clients have paid out less than 3%, mostly due to applying the strategies set out in his PhD thesis.

He is also a practicing member and trial lawyer of the US Tax Court Bar (in all 50 US States and D.C.), a US enrolled agent before the IRS, and adjunct Professor of International Tax Law for the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, CA, teaching their programs on International Tax, Transfer Pricing, and Tax Disputes from an international perspective – marketed by INFORMA), and internationally recognized for his work in tax risk management (Tax Intelligence – Amazon.com). He holds a doctorate in tax law, with specific emphasis on audits, administrative and constitutional law issues of taxpayers at the time of an audit. He is briefed frequently to assist multi-national in TP tax audits and disputes throughout Africa.
