Implications of Heightened Tax Transparency

To share or not to share?! That is the question in light of the new measures to increase transparency via the Tax Transparency Code (TTC) and proposal to publicly disclose CBCR data. This session will consider the potential pitfalls arising from the TTC and the rules re public disclosure of CBCR, the disclosures that may give rise to scrutiny, and the key messages for impacted multinationals as they navigate the process.

OECD's Pillar 1 Amount B Implications

This panel session will explore the status of OECD’s Pillar 1 project with specific reference to amount B and and how it affects Australia. Panellists will discuss the objectives and implications of standardising a pricing methodology for “baseline” sales and distribution under the amount B proposals, while looking in the round at the merits of two-pillars’ solution as a way to address the perceived shortcomings of the existing global tax structure.

Pillar 2, the GloBE Rules & Tax Certainty

Pillar 2 is one of the most significant changes to the international tax landscape in decades. The additional global compliance and reporting obligations are significant, placing increased demands for data, on finance teams and IT systems. Countries are now adopting Pillar 2 into domestic legislation, with the multinational and domestic top up tax rules coming into effect on or after 31 December 2023. This panel will discuss the proposed changes & how to approach them.

Responding to Multiple Reporting Requirements

This practical session will provide insights on how some of the leading MNE groups have adapted their operational processes, systems and tools to manage this ever-expanding reporting requirements and environment, including how to design and manage the process without the need for a new and expensive IT implementation. Attend to learn how to do more with less, through operational transfer pricing.

Managing Transfer Pricing Controversy & Disputes

This industry panel will explore the global landscape of transfer pricing controversy, including recent court decisions, current developments, and trends in transfer pricing enforcement by tax authorities. The session will focus on emerging themes in transfer pricing controversy that may lead to disputes on the horizon and possible avenues for preventing or resolving those disputes.

The Road Towards Sustainability & ESG

The tax governance framework and approach to tax has become a key ESG factor in a rapidly changing tax landscape. Our panel discusses the importance of transparency, sustainability and the ESG agenda in today's environment, considers the concept of sustainability in the context of TP policies and practices by MNEs, including the transfer of emission credits and offsets within a group, ESG hubs & the role of traditional limited risk TP policies.
