Building on 20 years at a DFI, Clarisa recently founded Impact Advise to provide advisory services to LPs and GPs investing across the emerging markets, with expertise in LP/GP relationships, and key impact themes such as Gender and Climate. She is a senior advisor to Allied Climate Partners, a philanthropic investment organisation looking to accelerate the climate transition by increasing the flow of capital to develop climate related projects and businesses across the emerging markets through junior capital to GPs.

Prior to this, Clarisa was at British International Investment (BII) for 16 years, where she led the Private Equity Funds team, managing a portfolio of over US$2.5 billion of fund investments across Africa, Asia and the Caribbean. She was a member of BII’s Funds Investment Committee, covering fund investment and co-investments in private equity, venture capital, infrastructure and private credit. She has been working in the African private equity space since 2012 and previously worked on BII’s South Asia, China and South East Asia fund investments as well as co-investment opportunities and microfinance investments across BII’s core geographies. Earlier on in her career, Clarisa spent time at Grupo Financiero Uno (acquired by Citigroup) developing a cross-regional online banking platform and investing into energy projects. She had previously been at BII’s offices in London and Costa Rica making direct investments in Latin America.

Clarisa graduated from Marquette University in Wisconsin with a BA (Hons) in Mathematics and Economics and has an MBA from INCAE Business School, Nicaragua.
