Mariama leads Google for Startups UK managing the programs and portfolios of 250+ startups from the UK and across EMEA. Since 2020 Mariama also manages the Black Founders Fund, having deployed $46m into over 420+ Black Founders across Europe, Africa, US and Brazil with founders securing over $460m in follow up funding - she believes if we want technology to work for everyone, it needs to be built by everyone. Mariama is passionate about how technology can tackle issues at scale, from the everyday to the epic, across various industries, such as women's health - one of her keen interests. In 2021, she launched the first Google for Startups Women Health Founders Academy in Europe and Israel that has helped rising stars in the space take their products to market.
In 2020 Mariama co-founded the NGO refugeesinmorocco.org - a healthcare focused NGO ensuring that African refugees in Morocco have access to basic healthcare and are guaranteed a healthy secure life.
