Zahid has close to two decades of experience across diverse sectors in Africa, having has spent the last decade dedicated towards advancing renewable energy across the continent.

Zahid is Managing Director at ARCH Emerging Markets, a specialist emerging markets investment adviser. At ARCH, Zahid leads investments in the renewable energy sector across Africa, while also overseeing the team and contributing to fund-raising activities. Prior to his role at ARCH, Zahid was at BioTherm Energy (now BTE Renewables), where he led the closing of US$500 million worth of renewable energy projects in South Africa and was actively involved in business development and M&A activities across Africa. Preceding this, Zahid worked at aloeCap, and he commenced his career at Deloitte.

Zahid is a qualified Chartered Accountant (South Africa) and holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship from HEC Paris, along with a Bachelor of Accounting from the University of Witwatersrand.
