Mr. Dabbar was U.S. Under Secretary of Energy for Science. He is CEO of Bohr Quantum Tech, developing technologies for the emerging quantum internet, and Distinguished Visiting Fellow at Columbia University. He is a contributor on energy for the WSJ editorial page, The Hill and Fox Business.
As Under Secretary he managed the majority of the 17 National Laboratories leading R&D for energy and sciences, managing 60,000 people, allocating $15 BN p.a. He co-led energy innovation efforts, including the Energy Storage Grand Challenge.
During government service, he travelled to the geographic North and South Poles, North Pole by submarine to conduct environmental research, and South Pole for high energy physics astronomy missions at South Pole Station.
Prior to Under Secretary, he worked in operations, finance, and strategy in the energy sector. Including at J.P. Morgan leading various energy sector and commodity trading efforts. He was also previously nuclear submarine officer.
