Mark McComiskeyPartner at Avaio Capital
Mark has worked in the private equity and infrastructure investing sector for more than 15 years. As a partner at AVAIO, he brings experience in the investment, development and construction, operation, acquisition and financing of private equity and infrastructure investments, including both public and private infrastructure, thermal and renewable power and midstream assets.
Prior to founding AVAIO, Mark was a Senior Managing Director at Prostar and a Partner at its spinout, Vanwall Capital. Mark was previously Co-Head of private equity at First Reserve, then the world’s largest energy focused private equity and infrastructure investment firm. Mark was a member of the firm Executive Committee, and the investment committees for both the private equity and infrastructure funds and was responsible for revising the firm’s investment approval process, portfolio monitoring process and investor disclosure processes following the 2008 financial crisis. His investment sector responsibilities included traditional power and wind, solar and waste to energy development projects in the US and Europe, and manufacturing and services business globally. Prior to First Reserve, Mark was a principal at Clayton, Dubilier & Rice.
Mark has held various board positions for public and private companies in the US, Canada and Europe, including DHT, Dresser Rand, Ansaldo Energia, CHC, Sterling Resources, Petrotal, and Cambridge Energy Research Associates.
Mark holds an AB in economics, magna cum laude, from Harvard College and a Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School.
