Private Equity: the state of the union
According to Henny Sender, Chief Correspondent at the Financial Times, and moderator for the morning’s session entitled the State of the Union, markets are losing faith in the effectiveness of QE.
As this had been the dominant theme of the last five years in the private equity industry, was this a good or a bad thing? she asked a distinguished line-up of private equity professionals.
LP’s Top Tips
To set the scene at this morning’s panel “LPs’ Top Tips” from SuperReturn 2016, moderator Hendrik Brandis, Co-Founder & Partner of Earlybird Ventures asked:“Is Venture Capital cooling down?”“Yes,” replied Tim Cruttenden, CEO, VenCap International. “We’ve had a hot market for the last two or three years. I think that it is cooling down somewhat now, though I would say the fundraising market has remained pretty strong.”
Changing diversification: PE fundraising today
The question that kicked off Wednesday afternoon’s Focus on Fundraising session here at SuperReturn 2016 was: Where were the panelists collecting their air miles from these days?Jussi Saarinen, Head of Investor Relations at EQT, said that his travel schedule hadn’t actually changed that much, because EQT has always tried to have as diversified an investor base as possible.
