Profile

Teddy is a renowned expert in private sector development and SME financing in fragile and conflict-affected states. Since joining Entrepreneurial Solutions Partners ESP in 2011, Teddy has led numerous engagements in the Caribbean and East and West Africa.

Teddy has advised private equity funds and enterprises on issues ranging from strategic auditing to regional growth strategies. He has also worked with development partners such as the Inter-American Development Bank, the World Bank Group, and the African Development Bank on issues related to private sector and entrepreneurship development.

In Côte d’Ivoire, Teddy has led numerous engagements with the Cote d’Ivoire Private Sector APEX organization—CGECI—including the Côte d’Ivoire National Champions Strategy.

He also pioneered the development and launch of La Finance S’Engage TM.

Teddy coordinated private sector national development roadmaps in Guinea and Senegal and led a dozen data-driven studies and engagements related to private sector development and MSME access to finance in Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Mali, Benin, Togo and Rwanda.

He contributed to the design and launch of half a dozen Intelligent CapitalTM facilities in partnerships with USAID, USADF, ENABEL, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the Mastercard Foundation and (co)-authored several publications on private sector development in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Teddy earned an M.A. in International Economics and International Relations from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at the Johns Hopkins University, as a Lindmor Fellow. At SAIS, Teddy pivoted his studies on conflict management and focused its curriculum around post-conflict reconstruction and post-conflict economics. He also earned a B.A in Finance and Economics at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) in Montreal. Prior to ESPartners, Teddy spent 8 years working in Corporate Finance for multinational organizations including Nestlé and Ericsson.

Teddy is a member of the Executive Committee of the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE).
